Why We Exist

Every Young Person Deserves a Chance to Thrive

At Operation S.O.L.V.E., we believe no young person should have to face homelessness, housing instability, or the transition to adulthood alone. Across Nevada, many youth encounter significant barriers to safe housing, education, employment, and long-term stability. Our mission exists to bridge these gaps by providing the resources, support, and opportunities young people need to build successful, independent futures.

Nevada Youth Homelessness

A Growing Need for Support

Youth homelessness remains a critical challenge across Nevada. Many young people experience unstable housing due to family conflict, aging out of foster care, economic hardship, or other life circumstances. Limited youth-specific housing options leave many without the support they need to achieve stability.

Foster Youth Transition Challenges

Aging Out Shouldn't Mean Going It Alone

Young adults transitioning out of foster care often face adulthood without the support systems many of their peers rely on. Research shows that 22–30% of youth aging out of foster care experience homelessness during their transition to adulthood, highlighting the importance of continued guidance, mentorship, and stable housing

Housing Instability

Safe Housing Creates Stronger Futures

Without stable housing, young people often struggle to pursue education, maintain employment, or focus on personal growth. Affordable housing shortages and limited supportive housing options continue to place vulnerable youth at greater risk of homelessness and long-term instability.

Workforce Barriers

Employment Opens Doors

Many youth face obstacles to securing stable employment, including limited work experience, transportation challenges, lack of job readiness training, and insufficient professional support. Building workforce skills creates opportunities for lasting independence and financial security.

Poverty & Financial Hardship

Breaking the Cycle

Economic hardship affects every aspect of a young person's future—from housing and healthcare to education and career opportunities. Access to financial literacy, employment resources, and supportive services helps young adults create a stronger foundation for long-term success.

Educational Challenges

Education Changes Lives

Many vulnerable youth face disruptions in their education due to housing instability, foster care transitions, or financial hardship. Providing educational support, mentorship, and career readiness resources helps young people stay on track and reach their full potential.
